In the first match of the night, Mumbai Meteors will take on Delhi Toofans in a spicy encounter. While Mumbai Meteors are already out of contention for the top 3, a win for them could well hamper Delhi Toofans’ chances of finishing at the top of the table. And that wil be something that the deutants will be wary of. The perk that comes with finishing at the top of the Super 5 table is that the team gets direct qualification for the Final. However, a defeat for Delhi will see them facing another hurdle in the form of the Eliminator.
Coming to the mini-battles that could shape this crucial encounter, a lot will depend on how the Mumbai attackers avoid the blocking prowess of Daniel Aponza. The Colombian has been absolutely phenomenal this season for the Toofans and is currently the league’s leading blocker. Eyes will also be on Shameemudheen who has been the leading blocker for this team and the onus will be on him to stop the thunderous spikes coming at them from the other side of the net. This battle of the two blockers could well decide the fate of the match.

In the second match of the night, it’s the defending champions who will be aiming to register a win to make it to the top 3. A narrow win, however, might not be enough for Ahmedabad as they need to get past the set & points difference of Bengaluru Torpedoes to make sure of their entry into the Eliminator. Calicut Heroes, on the other hand, will be aiming to register 2 points in order to stay in the hunt for the top spot that will give them direct entry into the RuPay Prime Volleyball League,powered by A23, Season 3 Final.
In the previous meeting, it was Calicut Heroes who came out on top in a 4-set contest. Captain Jerome Vinith pulled off a brilliant performance, to lead his team to a remarkable win,w hile claiming the RuPay Player-of-the-Match trophy as well. It was Calicut Heroes’ first-ever win over Ahmedabad Defenders.
On the court, the defending champions will be missing their ace attacker Nandhagopal S who got injured during the last match. The responsibility will be on experienced Angamuthu and Max Senica to lead their attack while Mastermind Muthusamy will aim to guide his troops with a calm display.
