In a team that boasts of players like Ibin Jose and Tsvetelin Tsvetanov, it was a certain Srajan Shetty who managed to bag the RuPay Player of the Match award during Bengaluru Torpedoes’ 3-2 (15-14, 15-11, 7-15, 15-12, 14-15) win over Kochi Blue Spikers in Match 15 of the RuPay Prime Volleyball League Powered by A23 Season 2.

Shetty, a 20-year-old middle blocker, was so impressive that he tallied four points from blocking alone, having finished the match with the joint-highest figures of nine points along with Ibin Jose and Pankaj Sharma.

Interestingly enough, it took Shetty some time to get into the game, but by the second set, the youngster was wreaking havoc.

Now, Shetty did drop points during his services but his blocking and attacking prowess were as perfect as possible. In fact, the 20-year-old had an efficiency of 100 percent
in both departments, having tallied eight of his nine points (four in attack and as many in blocking) from there alone.

Overall, Shetty made just two errors during the match, both of which came while serving. In a total of three attempted serves, he could only muster a solitary point while the rest gave Kochi Blue Spikers a point each.

For what it’s worth, it was a complete team performance by Bengaluru Torpedoes as they won the game despite accumulating fewer points across all sets than their opponents. In attack alone, Bengaluru had 28 points as compared to 35 points for Kochi.
